On April 26th, we raised our ice cream floats in celebration of Agape’s second annual Drive to Ride online fundraiser. We are very excited to announce that with the hard work of our volunteers, staff, and riders, Agape was able to exceed our goal and raise $27,708!!! This is equal to 162 lessons! WOWZERS! We are so grateful for all of those who donated and our hard working fundraisers. Agape is so fortunate to have such a strong community!
More specifically, the E.A. & Frances Reichart Charitable Foundation generously blessed Agape with a $15,000 Drive to Ride donation! Additionally, five fundraisers in particular went above and beyond the call of duty. Anne Schrand, Melinda Kean, Rachel Royston, Lauren Paladin, & Mike Obremski collectively raised $6,060! Fundraiser, Mike Obremski, promised to shave his head and beard if he reached his goal of $1000, and as you can see below, Mike delivered on that promise.
Clearly Mike’s dedication is an inspiration to us all so I asked him why fundraisers like Drive to Ride are so important and what keeps him so involved at Agape. He summed it up perfectly,
“Agape has an amazing mission. It’s not everyday that an organization is so focused on providing a service at a super affordable cost so that anyone who needs a smile(thanks to the amazing herd) can come out to Agape and have an amazing experience thanks to everyone out here. Plus the generosity of those affected and touched by Agape is fantastic.”
Mike is absolutely right. Agape does have an amazing mission that is fulfilled day in and day out and clearly shown through endless smiles from not only the riders, but staff and volunteers alike. None of this would be possible without the generosity and teamwork of the Agape community. You are the ones who make fundraisers such as Drive to Ride successful and make our mission possible. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU SO MUCH to all those who participated and gave to Drive to Ride! CHEERS TO AGAPE!
