Open Position: Development Coordinator

Job Description

The Development Coordinator will support the mission of Agape Therapeutic Riding Resources by helping grow and expand our philanthropic support to meet strategic development goals. With a focus on donor cultivation and acquisition as well as working closely with leadership to plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns, the Development Coordinator will spend a large portion of their time meeting and interacting with donors, volunteers, and other key members of the Agape community.

Position Type: Part-Time

Accountability: This position reports to the Director of Fundraising & Marketing

Location: Varied- this position requires regular travel to donor meetings as well as time at both Agape sites (Cicero and Greenfield). Some ability to work from home, as agreed upon with supervisor.

Salary Range: $18 – $20 hourly commensurate with experience

Primary Responsibilities

  • Steward a portfolio of current donors to enhance long-term relationships and increase giving
  • Build and manage a portfolio of new donor prospects
  • Coordinate and execute regularly scheduled donor-centric events focused on strengthening relationships with current donors and attracting new donors
  • Assist with fundraising campaigns throughout the year (Year End Campaign, Peer-to-Peer campaigns, new campaigns as deemed necessary)
  • Provide support for current and new fundraising events (Par for the Horse, Boots & Bowties, new events as created) including the following responsibilities:
    • Serve as the Silent Auction Committee Chair to manage a team of volunteers and help solicit auction items, manage an auction item spreadsheet to track donations, and upload auction items to the auction website
    • Track and manage event registrations and sponsorships as they are confirmed in a centralized location
    • Attend event planning committee meetings and assist with tasks
    • Track and manage special fundraising activities at events
    • Help manage volunteers at events
  • Actively participate in staff meetings and activities, as agreed upon with leadership

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in building the visibility of Agape Therapeutic Riding Resources by representing the organization at community events
  • Help to provide support with recruiting and cultivating corporate partners, event sponsors, and other community organizations.
  • Other projects and responsibilities as agreed upon with the supervisor as time permits

Qualifications & Required Skills

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 2 or more years experience in a professional fundraising role

Experiential Requirements:

  • Demonstrated fundraising success for 2 or more years
  • History of success working both independently and as part of a team
  • Proven relationship building and the ability to inspire others to support the mission and help sustain and grow the organization’s programs and long-term objectives

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in Google Suite, or similar programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,etc.)
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
