Therapeutic riding is mounted horseback riding for the purpose of contributing positively to the cognitive, physical, emotional and social well-being of people with disabilities through the teaching of horsemanship skills. There are many wonderful benefits to therapeutic riding:

Improves Social Skills
Who Can Ride?
Minimum riding age is 4. We are able to work with a wide range of disabilities. Common diagnoses include (but are not limited to):
- Autism, ADD/ADHD
- Reactive Attachment Disorder
- Cerebral Palsy, PTSD
- Ambulatory/orthopedic challenges
- Down Syndrome
Before participating, individuals need to consult with their physician. PATH Intl. riding centers require each prospective rider to present a complete medical history and a signed physician’s statement prior to a therapeutic riding session. We will help you all along the way though.

Our professional staff is certified to facilitate both the activities sessions with our horses in a safe environment, as well as facilitate evaluation and reflection sessions.
Horses are uniquely attuned to their environment, and to everyone in it. They are continually assessing leadership and communication skills in the people they encounter, and then respond honestly and without hesitation to that information. For this reason, they are invaluable resources in regards to professional development.
