Why give? Because miracles happen every day at Agape.

Our participants make physical and emotional strides during every session. Agape is a special place where people can connect and develop a relationship with our four-legged friends, volunteers, and PATH Intl. certified instructors. Horses and humans have a special bond, and, at Agape, we can facilitate this experience to provide hope and healing.

Program Giving

Rider Support Fund

We have never had to turn away a rider due to financial hardship. Because of the gifts to our Rider Support Fund, we are able to keep our program service fees at a low and reasonable cost for families and community partners, including full and partial scholarships to those who might not be able to participate in our programs without it. This fund helps support all of our programs and the staff, volunteers, and horses that make the magic happen.

Adopt a Horse

The Agape horses are our four-legged therapists. These gentle, kindhearted souls have been donated to Agape and are enjoying a second career, sometimes a third career. Riders and volunteers develop close relationships with their horses as they experience their wonderment and unconditional love. You can help Agape by adopting and supporting the care of one of our gentle giant partners in service. Read More about our horses >>

We will recognize your gift with the following accolades:

  • Plaque on adopted equine’s stall for duration of sponsorship
  • Recognition in quarterly e-newsletter
  • Recognition in annual report
  • Recognition on website with adopted equine bio
  • Certificate of care and a photograph with adopted equine

Horses go through lots of hay (3-4 bales a day), and several individual horses need grain or other supplements each day (bucket). These costs add up, and Agape is asking for your help.

Support your favorite horse – buy a bale for $15 or a bucket for $20. Each donation you make will nominate the horse (or horses) of your choice as finalists for the Top 5 “Horse of the Year” finalists. The “Horse of the Year” finalists (based off who receives the most Bucket & Bale nominations) will be selected at the end of every year!

Agape Horse and Rider

Agape’s horses are special and have the ability to help improve the quality of life for all who participate in classes. We appreciate your interest in donating your equine to our program. Without caring individuals like you, our program would be “legless.”

What are the criteria for a therapy horse?

  • 7-18 years old
  • Must be in good health and have good vision
  • Serviceably sound at the walk, trot, and canter
  • Calm and quiet disposition
  • Patient and flexible in new situations
  • Experience with arena, horse shows, 4-H, or with children

How do we care for our horses?

Agape provides the best care possible for our four-legged team members. All horses at Agape will have:

  • Regular vaccination, de-worming, and farrier schedule
  • Nutritional evaluation and feed needs met daily
  • Regular turn out
  • Individual stall for feeding
  • The promise and commitment of daily care
