“The willingness of America’s veterans to sacrifice for our country, has earned them our lasting gratitude.” ~ Jeff Miller
Despite the divide we are experiencing in our country this week, despite how you feel about the results of Tuesday’s election, despite your political ideologies, despite party preferences – today we implore you to pause and remember our veterans with reverence, gratitude, and unity. Without the sacrifice of our veterans who have served, and those who serve today, we would not have the freedom to vote and choose our elected officials. Let us unite in gratitude, unite in reverence, and unite in service to each other in an act of indebtedness and awareness for the sacrifice of the men and women we owe our freedom to. Because on this, we can all agree:
It is the Veteran, not the preacher, who has given us the freedom of religion.
It is the Veteran, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the Veteran, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the Veteran, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to assemble.
It is the Veteran, not the lawyer, who has given us the freedom to a fair trial.
It is the Veteran, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote.
So, today at Agape we remember the sacrifice of our veterans. We humbly and gratefully say Thank You. We will never be able to repay you for your service but we will choose to honor and steward the gift of freedom you have given us. Will you pause and join us?
