With deep sadness and heartfelt gratitude, Agape Therapeutic Riding Resources has made the difficult decision to close operations at Agape East in Greenfield. This decision was not made lightly or quickly, as our unwavering commitment has always been to cultivate personal growth by strengthening the mind, body, and spirit through unique equine-assisted experiences for children and adults throughout Central Indiana.
Since 2018, Agape East has been a place of healing, growth, and transformation for countless individuals. However, achieving this mission with excellence requires a delicate balance of critical resources—certified staff, a dedicated herd of therapy horses, and sustainable funding. After pausing operations in 2024, we entered 2025 with hope and determination to relaunch our programming in Greenfield. Despite our best efforts, we have come to the heartbreaking realization that we can no longer sustain operations in Hancock County.
“This is not the outcome we had envisioned or hoped for, and we recognize the impact this has on our community,” said Stephanie Amick, Executive Director of Agape. “We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has been a part of Agape East—the participants, families, volunteers, and donors who have made this journey so meaningful.”
While this chapter is coming to a close, Agape remains steadfast in its mission. We will continue to provide equine-assisted programs at our site in Cicero, ensuring that individuals seeking growth and healing through these experiences can still find a welcoming space within our organization. Our hope is to see some familiar riders, partners, and volunteers from Greenfield at our Agape North location in the coming months.
To those who have supported Agape East, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your dedication, generosity, and unwavering belief in our mission have touched our community in profound ways, leaving a lasting legacy in the lives we serve and in the hearts of all of us at Agape.
