Please join us in celebrating our very own Ronja who will be retiring after this week.
Ronja’s name means “God’s Joyful Song”, and she joined our herd at Cicero in June of 2018. Now 17 years old, Ronja is a Gypsy Vanner horse and her ancestors likely used to pull gypsy carts back in Romania. She was a mom to several foals before joining our herd.
Here at Agape, Ronja has one of the most luxurious manes and tails in the barn and is well loved for her sweet and quiet nature. She loves connecting with her riders and horse handlers, though an easier schedule will be much nicer for her allergies here in our Indiana weather.

Ronja’s next chapter will be spent leisurely enjoying life with one of her biggest fans, and long-time Agape volunteer, Denise Lunsford. Denise and Ronja carried the flag together in the opening ceremony at our Mane Event Horse Show on October 4th and got to take parade laps in front of our riders, families, staff and fans during the National Anthem.
Thank you for everything, Ronja…we love you and wish you and Denise all the best on your next chapter!
